Sometimes it is necessary for an employer to move to a formal disciplinary procedure to deal with behaviour or actions at work. The disciplinary procedure is designed to help and encourage all employees to achieve and maintain the required standards of conduct, attendance and performance. It should be seen as a corrective procedure ensuring all employees are treated fairly.
